WHO we are
BRIEF HISTORY
St. Michael Kabaa High School was established in 1924 by Fr. Michael Witte as a teachers’ training college. The school soon evolved into a boarding primary school before transitioning to an intermediate school. Notably, Kabaa played a pivotal role in the establishment of Mangu High School by sending some of its early students to help lay the foundation for the new institution.
In 1960, Kabaa was officially elevated to a secondary school, quickly earning a reputation for academic excellence. The school has produced some of Kenya’s most prominent leaders and intellectuals. Distinguished alumni include the late President Mwai Kibaki, Tom Mboya, Cardinal Maurice Otunga, and Archbishop Ndingi Mwana a’Nzeki, all of whom began their remarkable journeys within Kabaa’s hallowed halls.
